Winnipeg School Division Collective Agreements

The supplementary qualification allowance is paid to a teacher from the first day of the month after the Secretary-Treasury is proven that these additional qualifications have been obtained, although confirmation is delayed by the Manitoba Ministry of Education`s administrative and teaching certification body. An exception is the evidence presented in September, October and November, in which the salary allowance is paid retroactively to the first day of the school year. The collective agreement between the Winnipeg School Division and the WTA regulates the terms of employment in the division. It is a matter of sketching out the obligations and rights and privileges of workers and employers. The sessions take place up to five (5) times per school year. All CUPE members work under the protection of a collective agreement called a collective agreement. Your local union negotiates the terms of the agreement. Elected local union leaders also work with the employer to resolve workplace issues. Number of staff: the total number of employees in a school as of September 30 of the current year, where each teacher, secretary, paraprofessional, library technician/secretary and supervisor who works 50% or more in a school, is equal to a school and those who work less than 50% in a school are equal to 0.5%. In the absence of exturable circumstances, the leave request is made available on the basis of the will of trial. No more than two teachers per school may be on leave on the same day.

The department will strive to maintain teacher contact time within schools and at the most similar levels possible. The student`s contact time, which is assigned to a teacher in a school during the normal school day during each school year, may be higher or less than that of the previous school year. Below is the current collective agreement between the River East Transcona Teachers Association and the Transcona River East School Division. If, despite the above, the department expects the teacher to be employed for the third consecutive year for a period of less than three (3) months, the department may employ that teacher with a temporary teacher – general contract. This rate is retroactive to the first day of the expanded teaching mission and applies until the end of this expanded teaching mission. This period cannot be interrupted because a school is declared closed by the department during operating or administrative days or a substitute is not required to teach because of a school or divisional activity, and these days do not constitute a interruption of consecutive days. In schools where there is no assistant principal, the indicated annual allowance can be evenly distributed among teachers designated at the school.
